Every year, we get at least one day that is absolutely perfect. Every year we get at least one day with rain. Also, every year we get at least one hour or two of high winds that end up blowing down a tent or two.
Please note the following Moab weather statistics and geologic information:
- October is Moab's wettest month of the year
- Daytime highs average 75* - 85*-Nighttime lows average 40* - 50*
- The Moab area is a spider web of 1,000 foot + deep canyons that provide plenty of shade and protection from the elements.
- As a matter of fact, the Moonflower campground (our new favorite if you haven't heard) is in a small side canyon across the street from the Colorado River, it is extremely well shaded and protected from wind, with lots of cottonwood trees and rock overhangs to duck under if it starts to rain.
